“Who Is This?”

There is a moment in Matthew's Palm Sunday account that gets swallowed by the pageantry. The city is shaken — eseisthē [ἐσείσθη] Greek: eh-SEES-thee, the word for earthquake — and one question rises from the streets: "Who is this?" The crowd has an answer. It is not wrong. It is just not far enough.
